Hen's Teeth (Jane Rothfield and Nathan Bontrager) by Cameron DeWhitt

Welcome to Get Up in the Cool: Old Time Music with Cameron DeWhitt and Friends! This week’s friends are Jane Rothfield and Nathan Bontrager, AKA Hen’s Teeth! We played some old time music that I’m excited for you to hear. We recorded this interview a few months ago at Clifftop, and I’ve been saving it for a special occasion, which this certainly is, because it’s the last week of Get Up in the Cool month!

Tunes we’ll play:
Coondog
Day Four Jig/Day Four Reel
Chilly Winds
Sports Are Sports
Sullivan’s Hollow
Bonus Track: Tuffet

Jane Rothfield (Chasing the Old Time Muse) by Cameron DeWhitt

Welcome to Get Up in the Cool: Old Time Music with Cameron DeWhitt and Friends! This week’s featured friend is very dear to me, and I’m sure to many of you as well: fiddler, banjoist, tunesmith and vessel of the Old Time muse, Jane Rothfield. Also, joining us as accompanists are Peter Oswald on cello and Alan Carr on guitar. Between Jane’s whimsical talent, Peter’s unparalleled thoughtfulness and taste, Alan’s deep and diverse musical wisdom and, I like to think, my enabling spirit, we had quite the jam. I think you’re gonna like it!
